ERG. I just read this article about sleep and adolescents. So some weird chemical thing happens and teens are SUPPOSED to stay up until midnight-ish and wake up aroudn 10:00 in the morning. Which is true! Even if I’m super tired I CANT go to sleep until at least 11. Next year I’m going into ninth grade (high school) and I’ll have to get up at 6:00 every morning. But I’m supposed to go to bed at 8:00 to get ten friggin hours of sleep? No way. Look at it this way: each day of school I’m GOING TO HAVE 2-3 HOURS OF EXTRACURRICULARS, AND 3-4 HOURS OF HOMEWORK. That means 5-7 hours of crap. (excuse my language :p) I get home at 2:30. Hmm, let’s see, if I have the max amount of stuff that day, I WONT BE ABLE TO EVEN GO TO SLEEP UNTIL 9:30. (Plus I actually like to eat dinner sometimes. Or take a shower. Or perhaps indulge in a half hour of TV or computer.) And even if it was the minimum amount of stuff that day, then I would only have an extra half hour to do what I wanted. THAT IS CRAZY. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. I’M SORRY. IT JUST DOESN’T WORK. (Btw if you wanted to read the article… http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/330934/the_paradox_of_high_school_and_the.html?cat=72)

Its ok kid, you’ll get used to going to bed late and getting up super early. In going to be in 11th grade when school starts and I am taking college classes while I’m in highschool. I feel your pain. But your sleeping cycle will fall into a pattern and if you like caffiene (even though its not very good for you) it will become your new bestfriend.
